                                                                                       ABSTRACT

                Information skills are helpful to everybody, especially faculty members. Information seeking is of prime importance in order to achieve everybody’s academic goals. Information technology has developed rapidly and has had a huge impact an access to information and on information seeking behaviour. Information seeking behaviour is a broad term encompassing the ways individuals articulate their information needs, seek, evaluate, select, and use information. This study has examined the criteria of information seeking behaviour of the social sciences faculty.In this  study an attempt  has been made to examine the Information Seeking Behaviour of Faculty Members of Social Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
